FULL TRANSCRIPT
[00:00:00] At some point over the last week or two, you've probably wondered, will this starting point process actually work for me? This is a normal question to be asking, so that's why this episode is dedicated to answering that question. Who is starting point school actually for and who is it not for? All these questions are gonna be answered right now.
Hey, mama. Welcome to the Tough Love Mom podcast. I know you're here because you're ready to get consistent and finally lose that weight, and you're not afraid of a little tough love. You know what to do to lose weight, but following through on those things feels impossible. You wish you could just feel like you're strong, confident self again, and want to be a good example for your little ones, but you get thrown off by mom guilt in the unpredictability of motherhood.
It's frustra. Taking on your journey postpartum is hard, but it's not impossible. Hey, I'm Liz, and I've been where you are. I [00:01:00] gained a lot of weight in my pregnancies, 90 pounds and then 60 pounds. I needed to lose that weight to take control of my health, and honestly just wanted to feel like myself again with a sustainable approach to weight loss.
Simple consistency in working on my mindset. I lost it all in just over a year, both times, and I'm here to help you do the same. I believe that we have an ingrained ability to figure out what we need to do, make it happen, and do it in a way that AWS the world. If you're ready to stop falling off the wagon, create solid, routine, and healthy habits, and finally feel your best inside and out, all enjoying Dino nuggets on your salad.
You are in the right place. We're about to transform your journey. My. Get pumped up. It is tough. Love time.
Reminder, the doors are closing in just a few days. So if you're on the fence about joining Starting Point School, I promise this episode we'll clear up that decision for you. I want you to have starting point school.co. [00:02:00] Ready to go, uh, in case this does help you make that decision, help clear things up and say, yes, starting point school is for me.
I need to get my booty in. Starting point school.co is where you go. It's also in the show notes for you, but let's answer these questions. So I wanna start with who is starting point school not for, there's three different types of people starting point school is not fit for. So first one, I'm gonna be honest, if you wanna lose weight fast, this is not for you.
The starting point process. Time, in my opinion, at least three months, which is why I offer that group accountability for the first three months after enrollment. Um, the skill, honestly, it might change during your starting point, during those first couple weeks, but it also might not, it might take a stepping, another stepping stone, another habit after your starting point.
Call it a stepping stone. It might take a stepping stone or two to really see the scale start to change. Now, there's no guarantee on losing a certain number of. [00:03:00] In a certain timeframe because no program should promise that. But what starting point school does guarantee is sustainability in how you make these changes.
Something that programs that have you losing weight fast cannot promise because you're changing too much at once. So if you want to approach at a sustainable way, great, consider starting point school. But if you wanna lose weight fast, honestly your best option is going to be changing all the things at.
And finding a program that's tailored to that. And so starting point school is not for you if you wanna lose weight fast. Cause I just can't promise that it's a long process, but it's what creates real change. So who else is it not for? If you wanna change any unhealthy habits you have in your life, but you don't wanna deal with those habits head on, like you don't wanna say, okay, this is something that's really a pain point in my life, but you're not really willing at this season.
To deal with that head on. Starting point school is not for you. Finding workouts to do in a diet to follow [00:04:00] are often the only solution you're wanting. If this is you, and that's okay, but in starting point school, that is not all that you're getting. Do I educate you on nutrition? Yes. Do I supply you with a quality list of workout programs that are both free and paid?
Yes. And while workouts in a diet might temporarily change some old. Some old ingrained habits, they really will. They're not going to heal them. They're not gonna change them permanently. The starting point process digs deep and it has you work diligently on one habit at a time, so you can create real change in how you show up and think about exercise and nutrition and your routine.
So if you're wanting to change any habits in those areas, but you don't want to deal with. Struggles with it or those habits head on one at a time, this is not for you. Lastly, starting point school is not for you if you're already really consistent in all of these areas in [00:05:00] fitness and your nutrition and your routine.
And if you haven't, if you're consistent, you haven't fallen off majorly in a long time. Like I said in episode 136, celebrating the podcast's one year, Ann. There is some good stuff coming for mamas just like you down the pipeline. But if you're rocking your journey right now, you're content in how you approach your routine and your nutrition and your workouts and you don't sense any major issues coming up with your habits.
You don't sense like this major falling off the wagon. , you know, lose in all these habits that you've built that are consistent. If you don't sense any of that coming, I want you to stay the course and stay tuned into the podcast because like I said, there's more coming for you. But if, if that's the place you're in, I cheer you on like you've figured it out.
But starting point school is not for you either. I don't want you wasting your time cuz you're already consistent and disciplined and likely have lost weight. So who is this for? Who is starting point school for? First up, if you're a. Who's [00:06:00] just stepping back into her journey and wanting to do this, the doable, realistic, and sustainable way starting point school is for you.
I used this starting point process through the first year or more postpartum both times. So whether you're a few weeks postpartum, like you just got cleared or you're a few years postpartum, if you're stepping back into your journey and you. To approach your fitness and nutrition and your routine in a way that's responsive to your life instead of reactive and stressed and overwhelmed and feeling like, how will I make all these changes when I can barely even sit down if, if that's you right now and you're like, I just need to do this in a way that's realistic for my life.
Starting point school's for you. starting point school is also for the mom who has already stepped back into her journey. But juggling, working out consistently and eating healthier and getting into a routine is daunting and overwhelming. Maybe you've tried to get some of those in, but [00:07:00] it's a little stressful, like literally maybe you've started over a handful of times and the same thing happens.
Unforeseen life, circum life circumstances. , you have one off day, and after that off day, all the other habits you tried to change are in the toilet, not to be approached again until next Monday or next month. That's okay if that's happened, but your health and fitness journey as a mom does not and should not be overwhelming.
It does not have to be. It should fit in with your life instead of be the separate thing from the rest of your life. So if the thought of taking on all those change. Overwhelms you starting point. School is for you. Starting point school is also for the mom who needs a reset and wants to make this journey simple.
Again, your mind might feel clouded with information. Eat this, not that. Try these moves. Sleep, train so you can sleep more often. Don't forget your water. Here's 15 Paleo Instapot recipes and [00:08:00] 49 weight loss hacks. Like there's a lot of information out there and I, I'm sure it's. , but you've taken a lot of it in , and it's a little much, you want it to feel simple again.
You know that this journey is simple, but it doesn't feel that way. You've tried a million things. None of it seems to work or seems to stick. If that's you starting point, school is for you. We're gonna simplify all of this. You're gonna put your blinders on. Just follow the starting point process and make.
Lastly, starting point school is for you if you want to break old patterns and cycles and set a new example for your children. Our journeys are so much bigger than ourselves. Everything that we do, every choice that we make, the things we don't do, each time our kids see it, they're learning. So whether you grew up around only unhealthy, And you're trying to finally make this change in your family and the generations, or for one reason or another at one [00:09:00] point, these unhealthy habits developed in you.
It doesn't matter and no judgment, but you're at the point where you're like, I need to break these habits because you're at the point where you don't want your children struggling with the same things you struggle with around health and fitness. It is possible to do that. And the starting point process is what?
Chisels away at those patterns, one by one, brick by brick. And you will not be alone in this process ever. If you're ready to change those patterns in those cycles, no matter how generations deep they go, or how ingrained they are in you starting point school is for you. So again, let me, let me sum this up in case you're like, whew.
All right. I'm feeling it. Just remind me again, Liz, who it's for and who it's not. , if you're someone who's looking to lose weight fast, like within a week of starting, if you're wanting to change some of your unhealthier habits, but without really squaring up to those habits [00:10:00] one at a time, and you know, really, really taking 'em on head on.
If you're not, you know, like if your mindset isn't at the point where you're ready to do that, it's okay. Or if you're already really disciplined and consistent in all areas of your journey and you haven't fallen off for a long time, starting point school is not. If you're any of those three groups, and girl, like I said, no judgment.
I just don't want you investing in starting point school to realize, wait, this is not what I wanted or needed in this season. , there's absolutely a specific type of person this is for. And to best serve you the Tough Love Mom community as a whole, I just need to be clear on who should and shouldn't join Starting Point School.
And I truly hope that this episode helps you decide that. Now, it doesn't mean you gotta leave this podcast or a community, but this just isn't the right time for you to do starting point school or maybe even just not the right approach. You wanna. , so that's okay. I just wanna make sure you know which camp you sit [00:11:00] in.
So if you are someone who is stepping back into your journey and wanting to do this, the doable and realistic and sustainable way as a mom, if you have already stepped back into your journey. But juggling, working out consistently and eating healthier and getting into a routine is daunting or has been overwhelming.
If you need a reset, because everything is confusing and there's so much information out. Or if you want to break old patterns and cycles and set a new example for your children, now is your time. Now is your time. There's only four days left until the doors to starting point school close. Saturday, January 7th, they closing.
So head to starting point school.co to sign up and you can literally start. You'll get immediate access to our community, to the program, and you can get to learning because I do want you taking on this journey in a realistic and sustainable way. As a mom, I want you to not feel overwhelmed [00:12:00] by all of this anymore.
I want you to reset and simplify your journey. I don't want it to be confusing and man, do I want you to break those old patterns and cycles so you can set a new example for your kids. That's why we do this. We want them. We want our kids to have a confident, healthy mom who can keep up for decades. We want our kids to be free of the struggles we've had around consistency and discipline.
We want them to live long, healthy lives. And all of that starts with us. It starts with our habits, our mindset, and it starts with starting point. Again, Saturday, January 7th, the doors will close. So starting point School Co, because it will not open back up until mid to late spring. I cannot wait to see you in there so we can get.
